Job Description
PK education are seeking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a large Secondaruy School in Doncaster on a long-term temporary basis starting in September.
This role is ideal for individuals considering a career in education or experienced cover supervisors looking for a new challenge.
You will play a key role in maintaining continuity of education in the absence of teaching staff, working across a variety of subjects and year groups.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise lessons across the curriculum as pre-planned by teaching staff.
Ensure a calm and productive classroom environment.
Manage student behaviour in line with school policy and encourage positive conduct.
Provide feedback to the relevant teacher on pupil behaviour and engagement.
Assist with registration and administrative tasks as required.
Support the school’s safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times.
Contribute to the wider school community, including break and lunchtime supervision if necessary.
Support students with tasks and clarify instructions when needed.
Report any safeguarding concerns promptly and appropriately.
Requirements Essential:
A minimum of GCSE (or equivalent), including English and Maths
Good organisational and time management skills.
Confident classroom presence and strong behaviour management skills.
Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
Flexibility, reliability, and a calm, professional approach.
Desirable:
Previous experience working in a secondary school setting. Interest in pursuing a career in teaching or education. Experience supporting young people in an educational or youth work setting. Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies (training will be provided).
