Job Description
Principal Resourcing are seeking to appoint a Cover Supervisor for a full-time position at a secondary school in Scarborough.
The school welcome applications from those who are either stepping back from a teaching role, or embarking upon a career in education.
This role will provide short term cover for absent teaching staff, allocating pre-prepared work, keeping pupils on task and managing the behaviour of pupils during class. The role does not involve planning, preparing, delivering lessons or assessing and reporting on the development progress and attainment of pupils. This role is ideal for those contemplating a career in teaching, gaining first hand classroom experience across a breadth of subjects and year groups.
Basic role responsibilities:
· Supervising students and maintaining a structured environment in the absence of the regular teacher.
· Delivering pre-planned lessons.
· Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring students remain on task.
· Assisting with educational resources.
· Collaborating with teaching staff and senior leaders.
