Job Description
Cover Supervisor
First for Education is seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join a successful secondary school in Newport from September 2025. This full-time maternity cover will run for two academic terms, providing the ideal opportunity to gain valuable classroom experience in a supportive school setting.
Role overview:
*
Supervise classes during short-term teacher absence
*
Deliver pre-prepared lessons and maintain classroom order
*
Ensure pupils remain on task with their learning
*
Report back to teaching staff on behaviour and engagement
*
Support a wide range of subjects across Key Stages 3 and 4
The ideal candidate will:
*
A bachelor degree, strong subject knowledge.
*
Have experience working with young people in a school or similar setting
*
Be confident managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
*
Be flexible, organised, and able to think on their feet
*
Have a genuine interest in education and supporting pupil development
*
Be available full-time from September 2025 to Easter 2026
