Job Description
Are you ready to play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning in a busy secondary school located in the heart of Oldham? We are looking for a confident and responsible Cover Supervisor to join our team from September.
Situated within a diverse and vibrant community, the school is committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of teachers, ensuring that students remain focused, engaged, and behave appropriately throughout the school day.
Key responsibilities include:
Supervising whole classes during planned and unplanned teacher absences
Following detailed lesson plans and delivering set work to ensure continuity of learning
Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment
Supporting the school’s behaviour policy and safeguarding procedures
Reporting on student engagement and any incidents during lessons to teaching staff
Assisting with the preparation of learning resources when needed
Building positive relationships with students to support their educational progress
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young people, is highly organised, and thrives in a fast-paced school environment. Previous experience working with young people or in a school setting is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
