GSL Education are currently recruiting for a committed Cover Supervisor to support schools in the S5 area of Sheffield. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for those considering a teaching career or experienced individuals seeking flexible work in education.
Role Overview:
As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will supervise classes across the curriculum in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring that pupils remain engaged with pre-set work and maintain a productive classroom environment.
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver pre-prepared lessons and maintain classroom order.
Manage behaviour in line with school policies.
Support students with their learning and respond to questions where possible.
Report back to the relevant teacher on student behaviour and progress.
Ensure a safe and positive learning environment at all times.
Candidate Requirements for Cover Supervisor:
Previous experience in a school setting or working with young people is advantageous.
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
Confident communicator with a calm and patient manner.
A genuine interest in education and supporting students’ learning.
Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
