Cover Supervisor (CS) - Southampton, Hampshire
Are you confident, organised, and passionate about education?
A well-regarded secondary school in Southampton is looking to appoint a full-time Cover Supervisor from September 2025. This is an ideal role for aspiring teachers or education professionals who enjoy engaging with students and supporting learning across a range of subjects.
As a Cover Supervisor (CS), you will step into the classroom when teachers are absent or on PPA, delivering pre-set work and ensuring students remain focused and on task.
Responsibilities:
Supervise classes during teacher absence or PPA time using provided lesson plans and materials.
Maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
Manage classroom behaviour effectively and ensure work is completed.
Report back to teaching staff on student engagement and any issues encountered.
Support school routines and uphold policies across the school day.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with young people, preferably in an educational setting.
Confident classroom presence with strong communication skills.
Ability to manage behaviour and maintain a calm, respectful environment.
A proactive, flexible attitude and willingness to support a range of year groups and subjects.
An enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
