Secondary schools across Daventry are seeking full-time Cover Supervisors from September 2025 to provide consistent, high-quality classroom supervision and contribute to the learning and wellbeing of students aged 11-16. About the Role:
Lead classes across a range of subjects during teacher absence, delivering pre-set work
Maintain order, manage behaviour, and ensure students remain focused and on task
Support individual students with their learning where appropriate
Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil engagement and progress during cover
Ensure a smooth and positive learning environment, following the school's ethos and policies
Contribute to the wider life of the school, including lunch/break supervision and classroom transitions
We're Looking For:
Previous experience working with young people (e.g. schools, youth work, coaching, tutoring)
A confident, assertive presence with excellent behaviour management abilities
Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing classroom situations
A strong communicator who can build quick rapport with students and staff
Interest in or ambition to pursue a career in education - ideal for aspiring teachers
A degree, Level 3 qualification or experience in education is desirable but not essential
A sound understanding of safeguarding (training will be provided)
