Cover Supervisor – Birmingham (September Start)
Teaching Personnel are currently working with a large and thriving secondary school in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham to recruit enthusiastic and experienced Cover Supervisors to join their team from September. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about education and confident in managing a classroom environment. Working hours are 8:15-3:30pm Monday to Friday but part time opportunities are available to.
Role Overview:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining the continuity of education during teacher absences. You will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lesson plans and ensuring students remain focused and engaged in their learning throughout the day.
Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Supervision: Deliver lessons as set by the class teacher, ensuring pupils remain on task in a safe and supportive environment.
Managing Behaviour: Uphold the school’s behaviour policies by maintaining discipline, resolving low-level disruptions, and promoting positive behaviour.
Support Learning: Provide guidance where necessary to help students understand and complete set tasks.
Register & Record Keeping: Accurately record attendance and report any concerns to senior staff in line with school procedures.
Adaptability: Supervise across various subjects and year groups as required, adapting quickly to different classroom environments.
Safeguarding: Follow the school’s safeguarding policies and report any issues promptly.
Who We’re Looking For:
Previous experience working with young people (ideally in a school or educational setting).
Confident classroom presence and strong behaviour management skills.
Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently.
Degree-level education or teaching assistant qualifications are advantageous, but not essential.
A genuine interest in education and supporting young learners.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
