What’s a Cover Supervisor, Anyway?
As a Cover Supervisor, you'll step into the classroom when the regular teacher is away — delivering pre-set lessons, managing classroom behaviour, and keeping students on task. You don’t need QTS, but you do need confidence, presence, and a genuine interest in supporting young people.
Perfect for:
Graduates exploring a career in teaching
Teaching assistants ready to step up
Former teachers or unqualified teachers
Youth workers, coaches, tutors or anyone with strong leadership skills
What You’ll Get:
£100 - £120 per day, paid weekly
Flexible work to suit your schedule – choose when and where you work
A variety of schools across Sheffield – no two days are the same!
A supportive consultant (Sky!) who’ll cheer you on every step of the way
Ongoing training and support to boost your classroom confidence
The chance to build experience before a PGCE or teacher training course
What We’re Looking For:
A positive attitude and calm approach to classroom challenges
Confidence to lead a class of secondary school students (Key Stage 3/4)
Good communication skills and a professional manner
A valid DBS on the update service (or be happy to get one through us)
Availability for at least 2–3 days a week
