Smart Education is currently recruiting for Cover Supervisors to work across a variety of secondary schools in the Teesside area. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced education professionals looking to gain classroom experience without the responsibility of planning or marking.
Job requirements:
· Degree or higher qualification in a specialist subject (e.g., English, Maths, Science, Humanities, Languages)
· Previous experience working with young people (e.g., in schools, coaching, youth work)
· Confident classroom presence and strong behaviour management skills
· Ability to follow lesson plans and maintain pupil engagement
· Excellent communication and organisational skills
· A positive, professional, and flexible approach
· An enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply)
Role responsibilities:
· Supervising students in the absence of the regular class teacher
· Delivering pre-set lesson materials and ensuring classroom continuity
· Managing behaviour in line with school policies
· Providing assistance and support to pupils during lessons
· Reporting any issues or feedback to teaching staff or senior leaders
· Creating a safe, respectful, and focused learning environment
