Cover Supervisor
Location: Nottingham (NG7)
Pay: £110 - £130 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday, Term-time only
Start Date: Asap
Contract: Long-term with potential to become permanent
About the Role
Long Term Futures are working with an Ofsted Outstanding secondary school in the NG7 area of Nottingham to recruit a Cover Supervisor.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly regarded school with excellent standards of behaviour, a strong sense of community and high academic expectations. The successful candidate will step into an active classroom role, supervising lessons in the absence of a teacher, ensuring students stay focused and engaged.
This role is well suited to candidates with classroom experience, or to graduates considering teacher training who want to build valuable experience in a school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise classes and deliver pre-set work during staff absence
Ensure pupils remain on task and learning objectives are achieved
Promote positive behaviour and act as a role model for students
Collect completed work and provide feedback to teaching staff
Respond to immediate issues or emergencies calmly and appropriately
Assist with wider school duties such as lunchtime supervision and school trips
What We're Looking For
Degree-level education or relevant qualification (minimum GCSE English/Maths)
Experience working with young people, ideally in a school setting
Strong classroom management and the ability to create a purposeful learning environment
Clear communication skills and confidence in building positive relationships
Calm, adaptable and resilient approach when handling challenging situations
