About the Role
Milk Education is working with a network of welcoming secondary schools across Wakefield, and we’re looking for confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone considering a career in education or seeking flexible work within schools.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring that students remain engaged in their learning. No planning, marking, or teaching qualifications are required – just strong communication skills, classroom presence, and the ability to build positive relationships with young people.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans to classes across a variety of subjects.
Manage classroom behaviour effectively and maintain a positive learning environment.
Support students to remain focused and on-task during lessons.
Follow school policies and procedures at all times.
Provide feedback to the teacher or department about student progress where appropriate.
About You
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
Experience working with young people (youth work, tutoring, mentoring, or classroom support).
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Confidence in managing groups of students aged 11–16.
A positive, flexible, and professional approach.
An interest in pursuing a career in education (desirable but not essential).
