Job Overview
Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Overhead Crane Service Engineer to join their established team based in Shrewsbury. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead crane systems, working both locally and across the UK when required.

Key Responsibilities
Installation and Commissioning
Leads or assists in the installation and commissioning of overhead crane systems at customer sites.
Ensures correct setup, alignment, and functional testing of crane components.
Routine Maintenance
Carries out scheduled maintenance tasks to ensure the continued reliability and efficiency of overhead crane systems.
Conducts detailed inspections and diagnostics to proactively identify potential issues.
Emergency Repairs
Responds quickly to service calls for breakdowns and performs efficient fault-finding and repairs.
Works closely with customers to minimise downtime and maintain operational continuity.
Upgrades and Modifications
Assesses existing crane systems and recommends performance or safety enhancements.
Implements system upgrades and modifications in accordance with customer and industry standards.
Customer Support
Provides professional technical advice on crane operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Builds and maintains strong customer relationships through effective communication and service delivery.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintains accurate records of all service activities, maintenance, and repair work.
Produces detailed reports for clients and internal reference.
Health and Safety Compliance
Ensures all work is carried out in line with company, client, and statutory health and safety policies.
Conducts on-site safety assessments and advises clients on best practices for crane operation.
Qualifications and Experience
Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (NVQ, HNC, or equivalent).
Proven experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of overhead crane systems.
Strong technical knowledge of both electrical and mechanical systems.
Familiarity with PUWER, LOLER, and other relevant safety regulations.
Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and customer service abilities.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide when required.
