Integrity Education Solutions are supporting a unique and independent specialist education provider in London, offering therapeutic education to children and young people with special educational needs and neurodiverse profiles.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced Creative Arts Psychotherapist (Art or Drama Therapist) to join a multi-disciplinary therapeutic team. This rewarding role involves delivering creative, evidence-based interventions for children and young people with complex needs, including trauma, anxiety, SEMH, and school phobia. Working across both school and community settings, the post-holder will provide therapy that enables pupils to feel safe, regulate emotions, and re-engage with learning.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver creative arts psychotherapy assessments and interventions to children and young people with highly complex presentations.
* Support pupils affected by trauma, attachment difficulties, school phobia, anxiety, and challenging behaviours.
* Collaborate with teachers, therapeutic practitioners, learning mentors, and families to develop and implement therapeutic strategies.
* Use art/drama-based techniques such as role-play, improvisation, storytelling, and symbolic expression to support communication and emotional growth.
* Contribute to multi-disciplinary risk assessments, EHCP reviews, and clinical reports.
* Provide training, consultation, and workshops to staff to embed therapeutic practice across education settings.
* Maintain accurate clinical records in line with safeguarding and data protection requirements.
Qualifications & Registration
* Recognised degree in Art Therapy, Drama Therapy, or equivalent.
* HCPC registration (Licence to Practice).
* Membership of BAAT (or relevant professional association).
Key Experience
* Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience, including work with children or young people presenting complex or high-risk needs (e.g., trauma, Tier 3/4 mental health, exploitation, substance misuse, gang involvement, offending behaviours).
* Strong track record of working with children with SEMH, neurodiverse profiles, and those disengaged or excluded from education.
* Experience in multi-agency and multi-disciplinary environments.
* Skilled in delivering both individual and group interventions.
