Job Description
Anderson Knight is currently partnering with a leading FMCG company based in East Ayrshire to recruit a diligent and experienced Credit Controller. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established team, offering a salary of £28,000 - £30,000 per annum. The role is fully office-based, allowing you to be hands-on in managing and improving the credit control processes within the business.
As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing the company’s debtor book, ensuring timely collections, and minimizing bad debt. You will play a key role in maintaining healthy cash flow, supporting business operations, and building strong relationships with both internal teams and external clients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and maintain a portfolio of customer accounts
* Ensure all invoices are paid on time and in accordance with agreed payment terms
* Monitor overdue accounts and follow up on overdue payments
* Resolve any account discrepancies or disputes in a timely and professional manner
* Prepare and send customer statements and reminders
* Maintain accurate records of all communications and transactions
* Produce regular reports for senior management regarding debtor status and cash flow
* Liaise with internal teams (sales, finance, etc.) to resolve payment issues
* Handle customer queries and provide excellent customer service
* Process credit applications and perform credit checks on potential customers
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Credit Controller, preferably within an FMCG or similar fast-paced environment
* Strong understanding of credit control processes and procedures
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers and internal teams
* High level of attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software is a plus
* A proactive and self-motivated approach
