The Business & Opportunity:
Part-time Credit Controller required for a specialist regional property investor with an impressive portfolio. Through the acquisition and active management of property in sustainable locations, they create quality spaces for their tenants, help communities to thrive, and generate value for shareholders over the long term.
They are currently looking for a friendly, personable and well experienced Credit Controller to join their finance team. Reporting to the Group Finance Manager this role forms a key part of the team and primarily involves full responsibility of all credit control related tasks….
Specific Requirement:
Your remit will include:
Posting cash receipts to the system on a daily basis
Allocation of cash to tenant accounts
Ensure that debts are paid in a timely manner
Meet cash & debtor day targets set by the organisation above industry standards
Chase overdue invoices by telephone, email & letter within agreed timescales
Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity
Regular meetings with Asset Managers to ensure all relevant debts are managed as necessary
Identify changes in payment patterns and propose action to avert indebtedness
Handle disputed bills and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms
Provide accurate advice on billing queries
Respond promptly and completely to both client and internal enquiries
Put together arrears re payment plans to help tenants with cashflow
Administer CRAR or legal proceedings
Propose write off of irrecoverable monies
Providing ad-hoc reporting as and when requested
Undertake account reconciliations as required
Reverse disclaimers
Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met as required
Send out monthly client statements/letters as may be agreed from time to time
Risk management, routinely running credit checks on our tenants
Provide cover for other accounting functions as requested
Ideal Skills & Experience:
* Experience of working in a busy credit control dept.
* Ability to work under pressure on collection days.
* Familiar with accounts procedures, client ledgers, disbursements and office accounts.
* Possess a good understanding of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word & Outlook.
* High standard of numeracy, accuracy with attention to detail
* A team player with a flexible approach and a willingness to learn
* Outgoing and confident personality who is able to operate at all levels
* A self-starter who is pro-active and can set and achieve goals
* Good standard of education
* Strong organisational & time management skills
* Ability to recognise potential risks to the organisation that should be escalated
What’s on Offer:
* A salary in the region of up to £30,000 - £32,000 (Full Time Equivalent).
* 22-25 hours per week, flexible to suit you, e.g. 3 full days or spread over 5 shorter days.
