Job Description

Job Title: Credit Controller (Temporary to Permanent) Location: Brownhills Salary: £13.25 per hour Hours: 8:30am–5:00pm or 9:00am–5:00pm Contract: Temporary to permanent. Payroll for the first 12 weeks through Hariley Solutions, after which the successful candidate will transfer to a permanent contract. Reports To: Accounts Manager Department: Accounts Job Description: We are looking for an experienced Credit Controller to join our client’s busy Accounts team. The role involves ensuring customers pay within agreed terms, chasing overdue payments, and effectively logging and resolving customer queries. The Credit Controller will liaise with other departments to resolve issues in a timely manner, always adhering to company policies and representing the business professionally. Key Duties: * Ensure customers pay within their agreed payment terms * Chase payments via phone, email, and letters where necessary * Maintain tidy and up-to-date ledgers * Log customer queries and follow up or pass to Customer Service as appropriate * Assist Customer Service with small disputes and queries * Raise credit notes when required * Produce reports as requested * File relevant documentation in an organised manner * Use company IT systems effectively to record customer contacts and maintain accurate records * Attend meetings and training sessions as required * Ensure compliance with company Health & Safety policies * Undertake any other reasonable tasks as assigned Skills & Experience: * Minimum of 2 years’ experience in credit control within a busy accounts team * At least 2 years’ experience using accounting software * Competent in Microsoft Office * Ability to build strong working relationships both internally and externally * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Computer literate with strong keyboard and data entry skills * Ability to prioritise workload effectively * Adaptable to new procedures and ways of working * Reliable and punctual Additional Information: * Temporary to permanent role with payroll for the first 12 weeks * Opportunity to join the company permanently after initial period * Please note: a DBS check will be required for the successful candidate
