Job Description

An established and highly regarded Legal 500 criminal defence firm based in South London is seeking an NQ Criminal Solicitor to join its busy and supportive team. This is an ideal opportunity for a newly qualified Criminal Solicitor looking to build a long-term career in criminal law with exposure to serious and complex crime. The successful Criminal Solicitor will be joining a team known for its expert handling of Crown Court trials, police station matters, and legal aid work. This Criminal Solicitor position is ideally suited to someone passionate about defending clients' rights and confident in managing a varied caseload under supervision. The Criminal Solicitor's role As a Criminal Solicitor, your responsibilities will include representing clients at the police station and Magistrates' Court, preparing case files for Crown Court, instructing counsel, and managing legal aid documentation. You will work closely with senior solicitors and be supported in gaining Police Station Accreditation and future higher rights of audience if desired. The Criminal Solicitor Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (0-1 years' PQE) Previous experience in criminal law through training contract or paralegal work Passionate about criminal defence and client care Police Station Accreditation (or willingness to obtain) Ability to work both independently and as part of a team In Return? £32,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience) Legal 500 firm with strong reputation in criminal defence Structured progression pathway Ongoing training and CPD support Exposure to high-profile criminal cases Keywords: criminal solicitor | nq solicitor | police station | legal 500 | south london law | criminal defence
