Job Description

Contract Type: Bank / Zero Hours Shifts: Flexible – Days and Nights (including weekends) Pay: £12.21 Standard, + Sleep-in Allowance. About the Role: We are looking for experienced and compassionate Crisis Support Workers to join our team on a bank basis. This role involves supporting children and young people during high-risk or emergency situations, providing safety, stability, and emotional support when it's needed most. You will work in a variety of settings including emergency placements, respite care, and one-to-one support. Shifts are available on both a planned and short-notice basis, including overnight work. Key Responsibilities: * Provide responsive care to children and young people in crisis. * Ensure their emotional and physical wellbeing is prioritised. * De-escalate challenging behaviour and manage high-pressure situations safely. * Maintain clear records and communicate with professionals involved. * Follow safeguarding procedures and risk assessments at all times. Essential Requirements: You must hold the following up-to-date training or be willing to complete before starting: * First Aid (Paediatric preferred) * Ligature Awareness * Physical Intervention / Safe Hold Training (e.g., Team Teach, MAPA, or equivalent) * Safeguarding Children Level 3 * De-escalation and Behaviour Management * Understanding of Trauma-Informed Practice * Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to obtain) * Right to work in the UK and able to provide full references About You: * Confident, calm, and able to work under pressure * Experienced in supporting children and young people, especially in crisis or residential care settings * Flexible and reliable, with good availability for bank work * Strong understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries * Able to work alone or as part of a team
