Job Description
Spencer Clarke Group are seeking a Customer Services Team Leader for a local authority based in North London.
In this role, you will lead a team of customer service professionals to deliver high-quality, efficient, and customer-focused support across multiple contact channels, including face-to-face, telephone, and digital services.
Key Duties:
Supervise, develop, and motivate customer service staff to ensure high performance and service excellence.
Handle complex enquiries, monitor service delivery, and ensure first-contact resolution across all channels.
Drive digital transformation, reduce avoidable contact, and implement service enhancements.
Deputise for managers, respond to complaints and FOIs, and contribute to service reporting and decision-making.
Qualifications and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
Proven experience managing, coaching, and motivating staff in a fast-paced customer service environment.
Strong background in handling complex and technical enquiries across face-to-face, telephone, and digital channels.
Experience delivering service improvements, supporting digital transformation, and reducing customer demand.
Skilled in liaising with internal teams and external partners, and responding to complaints, FOIs, and Member Enquiries.
What's on offer:
Salary: £21+ph
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 3-6, months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week
