Job Description
Do you have a knack for design and a passion for practical problem-solving with resistant materials that can truly inspire students in an independent setting? We are collaborating with a highly regarded Independent school in Camden that's excited to welcome a skilled and enthusiastic temporary, part-time Design & Technology Teacher (specialising in Resistant Materials) to their team, starting ASAP. This is a fantastic chance to cultivate creativity and technical skills in students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with exciting potential for Key Stage 5.
What you'll be doing:
* You'll be planning and delivering dynamic D&T lessons, helping students build confidence and truly appreciate the iterative process of design and make using materials like wood, metal, and plastics.
* It's about guiding learners through everything from material properties and manufacturing processes to product design, fostering innovation and practical expertise.
* You'll create a challenging yet supportive workshop where students are encouraged to experiment, refine their ideas, and achieve their full potential.
What we're looking for:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a solid specialism in Resistant Materials or a related D&T field.
* Demonstrable experience teaching effective D&T lessons at Key Stages 3 and 4 is a big plus.
* A strong grasp of various D&T specialisms, coupled with an ability to teach complex practical skills clearly and safely.
* Excellent communication skills, effective classroom management, and a genuine drive to inspire future designers and engineers.
