We are collaborating with a highly regarded Independent school in Brent that's excited to welcome a skilled and enthusiastic temporary, part-time Design & Technology Textiles Teacher to their department, starting ASAP. This is a fantastic chance to cultivate creativity, practical sewing skills, and an appreciation for fabric manipulation across Key Stages 3 and 4, with exciting potential for Key Stage 5.
What you'll be doing:
* You'll be planning and delivering dynamic D&T lessons, helping students build confidence and truly appreciate the iterative process of design and make using various textile techniques.
* It's about guiding learners through everything from pattern cutting and garment construction to surface embellishment and textile art, fostering innovation and practical expertise.
* You'll create a challenging yet supportive workshop where students are encouraged to experiment, refine their ideas, and achieve their full potential.
What we're looking for:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with a solid specialism in Textiles or a related D&T field.
* Demonstrable experience teaching effective D&T lessons at Key Stages 3 and 4 is a big plus.
* A strong practical ability in textile creation and a current understanding of design principles.
* Excellent communication skills, effective classroom management, and a genuine drive to inspire future designers and artists.
