Job Description
Veritas Education is currently seeking enthusiastic and adaptable Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Wakefield & Kirklees on a day-to-day basis. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain classroom experience, contribute to local education, and work flexibly around other commitments.
About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will:
Supervise classes during teacher absences, ensuring students remain on task with pre-set work.
Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
Provide support and encouragement to students across a range of subjects.
Report back to teaching staff on student progress and any issues.
Ideal Candidate
We welcome applications from:
Graduates considering a career in teaching.
Experienced Cover Supervisors or Teaching Assistants.
Individuals with experience working with young people (e.g. coaching, mentoring, youth work).
Confident communicators with strong classroom presence and behaviour management skills.
Requirements
A minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths (A-C or equivalent).
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
Right to work in the UK.
Availability at short notice and flexibility to travel within Wakefield & Kirklees.
