Established for almost 25 years, our client is a leader in lighting controls and smart building technology. They work with specifiers, installers and end-users and offer a full service - from pre-commissioning and CAD design through to project software and on-site commissioning. Their in-house experts then deliver every stage, ensuring quality, innovation and seamless integration.
Due to sustained period of growth they are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Commissioning Engineer to join their technical team. This is a field-based role where you will be responsible for commissioning, testing, and handing over lighting control systems, as well as providing ongoing support and aftercare.
You will play a key role in ensuring systems are installed, configured and maintained to the highest standards, working across a range of projects of varying technical complexity.
Key Responsibilities

Commission, test and hand over of lighting control systems.
*
Provide client and colleague training on systems.
*
Carry out preventative maintenance and reactive troubleshooting.
*
Complete headend installations and configure IP networks (routers, gateways, user interfaces).
*
Prepare and maintain detailed documentation (site reports, snag reports, health checks, backups).
*
Ensure all health and safety requirements are met, including maintaining up-to-date ECS/CSCS cards.
*
Liaise with internal teams and external contractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
Requirements
*
Qualified to 18th Edition electrician standard (preferred).
*
Strong knowledge of lighting control systems, including DALI.
*
Proven experience in testing, commissioning, and fault finding.
*
Experience with IP network configuration.
*
Current ECS / CSCS Card (essential).
*
Ability to work on-site daily, carry equipment (up to 10kg), and stand for extended periods.
*
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to provide clear technical advice to clients.
