Job Description

Damp & Mould Manager Location: Suffolk (Hybrid working available) DayRate: £300-£325 per day Contract: 6 Months (with likely extension) IR35: Inside An exciting role awaits for an experienced Damp & Mould Surveyor to join a forward-thinking Local Authority in Suffolk. This position is pivotal in ensuring homes are safe, healthy, and habitable, directly supporting the Council's response to Awaab's Law and the Social Housing (Regulation) Act. Key Responsibilities: Lead property condition surveys focused on Damp, Mould, and Housing Health & Safety Rating System (HHSRS) assessments. Provide detailed technical reports, outlining condition issues and recommending remedial actions and long-term improvements. Monitor and manage remedial actions, ensuring all urgent works (temporary and permanent) are delivered on time. Collaborate with internal Repairs and Programme teams, ensuring defects identified are actioned and followed through. Contribute to performance reporting, particularly around Awaab's Law compliance milestones and timescales. Upload and maintain accurate stock condition data in asset and compliance systems. Work closely with residents and stakeholders, ensuring a high level of satisfaction and engagement. Support programme planning and investment strategies by identifying priority properties and key risks. Assist with the procurement and oversight of contractors and consultants, ensuring value for money and regulatory compliance. Ideal Candidate Profile: Proven experience delivering stock condition surveys, particularly within social housing settings. Strong knowledge of HHSRS, damp & mould diagnostics, and relevant legislative frameworks including Awaab's Law. Excellent stakeholder skills, with a customer-first approach to housing and compliance. Comfortable managing contractors, overseeing repairs, and ensuring timely delivery against programmes. Skilled in technical report writing and data entry for asset management systems.
