Salary: £18.00 - £23.00 per hour
We're looking for an experienced Damp and Mould Operative to join a local social housing provider in North London. This role offers the chance to work within a trusted repairs and maintenance team delivering essential plastering repairs to social housing properties, with the opportunity to secure permanent employment.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnosing and treating damp and mould issues using approved methods and specialist products.
Removing and replacing damaged surfaces, including plaster, paint, wallpaper, and other finishes affected by damp.
Cleaning and preparing affected areas, ensuring surfaces are properly treated before decoration.
Applying anti-mould treatments and sealants to prevent recurrence.
Carrying out redecoration works including painting, wallpapering, and minor plastering following treatment.
Performing minor repairs related to damp and mould remediation, such as patch plastering, sealant replacements, and basic carpentry.
Using a handheld PDA device to receive job orders, record completed work, and update maintenance logs.
Working in both occupied and void properties, maintaining professionalism and minimising disruption to tenants.
Communicating effectively with tenants, offering reassurance and clear explanations of the work being carried out. Requirements:
Full UK Driving Licence (no more than 6 points or a driving ban within the last 3 years)
City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plastering (desirable)
