Job Description

Data Engineer - Metadata Management & Data Modelling - Gold Max Supplier Rate: £483 Clearance Required: SC ACTIVE Duration: 6 months Location: Telford with 2 days/week in office IR35 Status: Inside Purpose of the Role: To support delivery of the Domain API by ensuring all new API data structures, definitions, and attributes are aligned with enterprise data standards, metadata policies, and master data ownership across ETMP, ETDS, DWIT, MDTP, and related systems. Required Skillset Strong communication and consultancy skills: This is a client-facing role. Data Modelling experience or knowledge: A good experience may be challenging at A6 level, so foundational knowledge is acceptable. Basic Python proficiency, as the role will leverage GenAI to build models. SC eligibility with sufficient notice, we can initiate and complete the SC process.Key Responsibilities Metadata Catalogue Management: Identify all relevant data attributes and maintain Axon with definitions, ownership, relationships, and any governance gaps. Compliance with Data Standards: Map API requirements to enterprise standards, validating naming conventions, semantic consistency, MSOP rules, and domain classifications. Data Lineage & Structural Validation: Validate lineage, structure, and definitions across key systems of record including ETMP, ETDS, DWIT, MDTP, NRS, and RCM. Governance Reviews: Ensure API request/response data adheres to controlled vocabularies, approved sources, and enterprise compliance policies.Tools & Technical Proficiency Axon/Abacus experience: Good to have metadata catalogue, data domain mapping, lineage documentation. Abacus for architecture compliance and linking data models. Beneficial: EDC/IDQ, ERD/UML tools, OpenAPI/Swagger understanding
