Job Description
We are seeking a Data Migration Test Engineer with strong Snowflake and Azure data stack experience to join a consultancy team delivering data platform transformation projects for a leading financial services client.
This role will play a critical part in ensuring high-quality, secure, and accurate data migrations, working closely with engineering and data teams to validate ETL pipelines and data transformations within a complex Azure and Snowflake environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and execute detailed test plans for data migration and transformation projects.
Perform data validation for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
Verify ETL processes and dependencies across Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Snowflake.
Collaborate with engineering and data teams to triage issues and resolve defects efficiently.
Document test results, issues, and resolutions clearly.
Ensure security, access controls, error handling, and logging are maintained across pipelines.
Integrate test automation into CI pipelines to improve deployment quality.
Conduct performance testing and tuning of data pipelines and queries.Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience testing data migrations and data warehouse solutions
- Strong SQL expertise and understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modelling
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), Synapse, and Snowflake
- Experience validating data transformations and outputs end-to-end
- Familiarity with automated testing tools and frameworks
- Integration, exploratory, and performance testing experience
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
- Experience working with third-party vendors and distributed teams
Desirable:
Performance tuning and query optimization skills.
Scripting for test automation (e.g., Python).
Familiarity with Visual Studio, C#, XUnit, Azure DevOps (ADO), Git.Why Join?
