Astute's Nuclear team is working with a leading provider of specialist lifting and construction solutions to recruit a Delivery Manager to take charge of on-site operations within one of the UK's flagship nuclear new build projects.
The Delivery Manager will be at the heart of project execution, overseeing construction activities, leading site teams, and ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of work packages. Responsibilities and duties:
As the Delivery Manager, you will be:
Acting as the main point of contact for the client on all site progress and operational matters.
Leading and motivating on-site teams, including supervisors and Black Hats, to deliver work safely and efficiently.
Planning site logistics and managing deliveries from compound to work face, ensuring smooth workflow and resource availability.
Coordinating equipment, workforce, and installation activities, including kick-off meetings and method statement briefings.
Overseeing heavy lifting operations, including safe use of gantry cranes and associated equipment.
Monitoring progress against schedule, driving snag resolution, and producing reports to keep stakeholders informed.
Managing technical queries, maintaining documentation, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Promoting a strong safety culture and addressing workforce issues in the first instance.
Professional qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:
Proven experience managing site teams in construction, engineering, or other highly regulated environments (nuclear experience desirable).
Hands-on experience with gantry cranes, lifting plans, and associated heavy engineering operations.
Strong planning, logistics, and resource management skills.
Excellent report writing, presentation, and stakeholder communication abilities.
General knowledge of mechanical systems, construction operations, and nuclear industry practices.
