Pertemps are working with our client based in Burton-on-Trent who are looking for a Demand Planner to join their team on a fixed term temporary basis. Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm (can be flexible with working hours if needed) & potential to work from home 2 days a week.
As a Demand Planner your role purpose will be Working within the central Stock Logistics function, reporting directly to Product Lifecycle FLM, this will include managing and supporting the supply chain forecasting and overall demand planning needs of the client and its Customers. The Demand Planner is responsible for analysing stock and customer sales data, managing and reviewing forecasts and creating and distributing various daily/weekly forecast reports. You will be a pivotal member of the team, ensuring the timely and successful delivery of forecast information to our internal & external customers and maintaining forecast requirements in our Optimiza planning system, with a focus on our customers and planning team receiving the best possible support. You will be promoting the client in your daily responsibilities with your impeccable customer service through direct communication with the supply planning teams & customers.
Key Responsibilities
Review the ‘Forecast Accuracy Exception’ report to fix and tune the largest error/volume lines as well as using ad hoc analysis to understand issues and provide feedback to drive continuous improvement
Log weekly KPI data to highlight key trends and successes
Identify possible improvement on end to end supply chain solutions to enable optimal stock placement and minimise wastage
Completion of daily tasks and ad-hoc requests whilst ensuring system requirements are up to date, aligned and accurate in a timely manner
Interpret and validate customer MI and forecast plans to ensure forecasted values are in line with actual requirements
Analyse historical demand and trends
Communicate with planning teams and management to ensure daily/weekly update of potential issues
Produce and communicate accurate customer, Demand & Forecast reports
Understand the End to End solutions of the Business and be able to offer sound input to manage internal business expectations
Key participant in customer and forecast planning meetings at all levels
Organise own time efficiently and demonstrate competency to adhere to and complete tasks to deadlines
Create seasonal profiles. Use analysis to group lines with similar behaviour. Monitor and update accordingly
Functional Experience
• Intermediate to advanced MS office skills weighted towards the Excel program, Powerpoint and the power BI analysis program
• Prior Demand Planning experience in a Food/FMCG environment or relevant degree/business qualification
• Ability to communicate eloquently in both written and verbal formats
• A strong work ethic, with a desire to develop self, demonstrating ability to go the extra mile and exceed expectations
• Ability to work to deadlines, prioritise own workload and manage resource to ensure timely completion of tasks; ability to multi-task whilst having high attention to detail
• Outstanding organisational skills and ability to manage own time effectively
• Able to work with people in such a manner as to build high morale and group commitments to goals and objectives
• Be a positive influence within internal and external departments
• Able to demonstrate good judgement when issues require escalation, intervention or further action.
