Job Description

Job Title: Autoclave / Demould Technician Department: Autoclave Demould Reporting to: Autoclave / Demould Team Lead Job Purpose: To carry out autoclave operation and composite part demoulding activities safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards in line with production requirements and company procedures. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities (including but not limited to): Operate autoclaves in accordance with laid-down cure cycles and company efficiency targets Perform demoulding of cured composite components following standard operating procedures, drawings, and work instructions Ensure moulds are prepared, loaded, and cured to the timescales required by production planning Record any bag leaks or cure deviations accurately on the works order Complete all required traceability paperwork fully, accurately, and on time Perform daily maintenance checks on autoclaves and immediately report any faults or issues to the Team Lead Maintain excellent housekeeping standards in the autoclave and demould areas, adhering to "Clean As You Go" principles at all times Keep moulds in good condition and return them to stores in a timely manner complete with all nuts, bolts, and ancillary items Ensure the mould storage area remains organised so that all moulds and tools are easy to locate Assist with keeping departmental tools, equipment, and consumables organised and in good order Highlight any quality concerns, defects, or process issues immediately to the Team Lead Actively participate in corrective actions to reduce scrap, rework, and quality escapes Follow all health, safety, and ISO9001 procedures, wearing correct PPE at all times and completing risk assessments/method statements as required Support process improvement activities and suggest ideas to improve efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining quality Assist with the induction and training of new team members when requested Attend production and team meetings when required Provide constructive feedback on processes and actively support team initiatives Undertake any reasonable ad-hoc tasks requested by the Team Lead or Production Manager Act as a positive ambassador for the company, upholding company standards and supporting a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvementKey Skills / Attributes: Experience operating autoclaves and demoulding composite components (preferred) Good understanding of composite manufacturing processes and cure cycles Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and cure schedules Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts Good organisational skills and ability to work systematically Effective communication skills and a team-oriented approach Able to work calmly and methodically under pressure to meet daily production targets Proactive attitude with a desire to continually improve processes and performance Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision once trained Commitment to health, safety, housekeeping, and quality standards
