Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Depot Supervisor to oversee and manage the locker drivers of our clients depot and De Brief.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse supervising, logistics, and team leadership.
This role is crucial in ensuring efficient materials handling, shipping and receiving processes, and overall depot performance.
Duties
Supervise the day-to-day operations of the locker van drivers which can be around 30-35 drivers, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to safety standards.
De Brief all staff.
Implement process improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness.
Supervise team members, providing guidance and support to foster a collaborative work environment.
Ensure proper utilisation of the warehouse management system for inventory tracking and reporting.
Coordinate logistics for incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring timely deliveries.
Conduct regular training sessions for staff on warehouse procedures and safety protocols.
Handle heavy lifting tasks as required, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Challenge and manage performance of drivers
Qualifications
Proven experience in warehouse supervising or a similar role is essential.
Demonstrated ability in team management with excellent leadership skills.
Experience using Microsoft packages such as excel.
Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement initiatives.
