Job Description

Position: Deputy Care Manager – Day Shift Location: Hornsea Salary: £31k Mayfield Recruitment are currently looking for a Deputy Care Manager in the Hornsea area on a permanent basis. In this position, the Deputy Care Manager will need experience working in a senior position and will be reporting to the registered Home Manager. The home cares for adults with Asperger’s, Schizophrenia or eating disorders to age-related illnesses or Dementia. Responsibilities • Manage the day to day delivery of a high quality, evidence-based person centred, holistic care incorporating meaningful activities for people living with mental health conditions. • Maintain up to date knowledge of best practice and developments. • Oversee staffing levels to ensure that appropriate levels of staff are maintained, taking appropriate action in the event of any gaps in service. • Maintain up to date and accurate records in compliance with Information Governance. • Practice within the guidance and legal framework of CQC Regulations and the Essential standards of Quality and Safety, Infection Control, Medication and Confidentiality, and National Medical Council’s standards and guidance. • Ensure Information Governance and confidentiality is adhered to at all times Requirements Qualifications essential /Desirable • Qualification in Dementia, mental health or Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) Current registration not essential. • Management qualification or post-qualifying award Diploma Level 5 or working towards (or equivalent) in health care • Diploma level 3 (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) Experience and skills Essential /Desirable • Management or supervisory role within care home • Specialist skills and experience in dementia / mental health • People management skills including best practice in recruitment, selection and performance management • Strong decision making and problem solving skills • Conducting service reviews and report writing • Good level of IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, internet based packages) • Development and measurement of Quality Assurance systems Rewards • Annual Bonuses • Mileage paid over 5 miles • Life insurance • Company pension in place • 24/7 free counselling service • On site car park • Refer a friend scheme of up to £250 each • Company pension • Meals provided • Free or subsidised travel
