Job Description
We are actively seeking an experienced Deputy Head of Capital/Construction to work for an organisation based in Manchester with on an interim basis for a minimum of 6 months but likely extension. This will be working within an Estates Capital Development department for a large organisation.

Location: Manchester
Salary Range: £(Apply online only) per day via umbrella or CIS
The Role
* Lead complex capital programmes using structured programme management methodologies, ensuring delivery against time, cost, quality, risk, and benefit targets.
* Managed & support a small team of project managers
* Provide accurate and timely reporting through established governance frameworks, escalating significant changes or risks in cost, budget, or timelines.
* Oversee the full project lifecycle from design to completion (RIBA Stages 1–7), ensuring projects are appropriately resourced and aligned with organisational readiness.
* Ensure stakeholder requirements are captured consistently and integrated into planning, design, decant, and delivery processes.
* Manage effective stakeholder engagement across all levels to support smooth handovers and successful transition into operational use.
* Provide leadership to project teams, fostering a positive culture, encouraging innovation, and recognising achievements.
* Analyse and resolve highly complex problems using data analysis tools, developing frameworks to monitor progress and support decision-making.
* Review and interpret input from design, operational, and project teams to advise on performance, ensuring continuous improvement of internal processes and standards.
Requirements
* Managed Large capital budgets
* Stakeholder management/contractor management
* Managed strategic capital programmes
* Managed both a procurement & commercial aspects of a capital projects department
* Contributed to the risk management processes
* Experience of managing large scale projects within “live” environments
