Job description:
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational leader to join the Science team. The Academy is committed to ensuring that all areas are led by subject specialists. Science is making steady progress over the year and is on target to achieve it’s best results ever. The department currently has the highest achieving Separate (Triple) Sciences GCSE cohort within the Academies, nationally, with a 100% pass rate.
You will join a team of dedicated science teachers and leaders, who are all committed to ensuring that students develop their full potential in science and enjoy learning. The team is has experts in all three science disciplines, each of which are hard-working, enthusiastic and flexible. Staff are keen to develop professionally and there are frequent development opportunities both within science and the wider academy. The team is led by the Head of Faculty and an Assistant Principal, who is also a science specialist. The Senior Science Technician leads the technician team in supporting the teaching and learning in science. The department also carries out internal continuous development for specific pedagogical approaches and subject knowledge enhancement courses for challenging scientific concepts.
The Academy is an inclusive 11 to 18 academy that is committed to giving children the best possible education. We are located in a new building with state-of-the-art facilities and situated 12 minutes from Enfield Lock train station. The percentage of students achieving top grades at GCSE has risen over the years. Their students progress to universities including Russell Group and other leading universities following a wide range of courses.

They hold middle and senior leadership courses run by Institute of Education at UCL open to all staff who want to develop their skills in their current role or look towards the next step in their career. 1. To assist the Head of Faculty in leading, managing and developing the curriculum provision within a specified department.
2. To develop the quality of teaching and learning within a specified area of the department.
3. To support the Head of Faculty in monitoring and supporting academic progress, achievement, attendance and behaviour of students in the department.
4. To deputise for the Head of Faculty in their absence.
5. To actively support the vision, ethos and policies of the Academy.
6. To promote and safeguard the welfare of children you teach or come into contact with.
Interviews will take place: Week commencing 26th May 2025. We will hold interviews for suitable early applicants in the week commencing 19th May 2025
