Brook Street are recruiting for an experienced Deputy Manager in a Children's residential home. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills and be confident in stepping up in the absence of the registered manager.
In the role, you will work closely with the manager to uphold the highest levels of care in line with trauma-informed principles. You will create a positive, nurturing environment that promotes personal growth, healing and resilience. You will play an important role in ensuring the child fees safe and secure.

The Role:
Support and guide care staff so they have the right skills and knowledge. This includes doing staff supervisions and helping manage their performance.
Help organise staff rotas as directed by the Registered Manager.
Make sure all staff know the daily routines and what's expected in the home.
Always follow the policies and procedures used in the home.
Make sure staff understand their roles under the Children's Home Regulations for Wales (RISCA).
Ensure staff know about important laws that apply to their work.
Make sure children's reviews and meetings happen on time.
Ensure care and placement plans are in place and staff know how to follow them.
Lead or take part in meetings and reviews when needed.
Make sure care is always delivered to a high standard and helps maintain the home's good reputation.
Help create an open and honest environment where children feel safe to complain and are listened to.
Make sure the home is free from discrimination and everyone is treated fairly.
Support the Registered Manager with any money-related tasks in the home.
Take part in training and make sure staff attend training, complete certificates, and return feedback forms.
Step in when the Registered Manager or Team Leaders are away.
Make sure staff understand the role of a key worker, and monitor how well this work is done.
Encourage staff to grow and improve in their jobs.
Make sure all paperwork and records are kept properly and follow regulations, policies, and good practice.
Support staff to help young people grow and achieve in all areas of their lives - including school, hobbies, health, and emotional well-being.
Write, edit, and organise reports as needed.
Take part in the on-call system when required.
Always work to protect and promote the safety and well-being of children and young people.
Help with staff recruitment when needed.
Requirements:
QCF Level 4 in Health and Social Care (CYP)
Full UK driving Licence
Experience with Emotional, Social and Behavioural Difficulties
Experienced working with young people with Autism
