Job Description

Pur client is looking for a Deputy Manager to work in their first home which was registered early 2025. You will work as part of the wider team ensuring a safe, nurturing and thriving environment. Thinking on your feet, wanting to make a difference and inspiring young people are all characteristics for the perfect Deputy Manager. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in residential childcare and excellent leadership abilities. The DM will work alongside the Registered Home Manager in implementing placement plans, supervising staff, and ensuring all safeguarding protocols are followed. Key Responsibilities: · Support the Registered Manager in ensuring high-quality care and safeguarding for children maximising the life chances of Looked After Children. · Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence. · Assist the Registered Manager in the daily management ensuring high standards of care, safety, and security and implementing recommendations from Ofsted Inspections and Regulation 44 visits, reporting to the Responsible Individual / Director when required. · Oversee colleague management, including appraisals, supervision and training adherence. · You will need to be open to working in a reflective manner and deliver relationship-based, person centered care as part of a small team. This will involve a combination of day, evening, night, weekend and bank holiday working. · Contribute to the Care Planning process for children in our care by: - · Attending and preparing for children’s conferences, reviews, planning meetings, and core group sessions. · Ensuring accurate and timely maintenance of children’s records. · Completing delegated tasks from the Care Planning process to a high standard. · Maintain all records according to company policies, regulations, and statutory requirements. · Uphold strict confidentiality regarding all duties and information encountered. · Work with the management team to prepare and implement a rota system that ensures the safety, security, and care of the children in your care. · Upholding professional Care Practices · Perform additional duties as required by the service needs or as directed by the Registered Manager or Director. What We're Looking For: · Must hold a Level 3 NVQ or above in Children and Young People’s Workforce or equivalent. · A qualification such as CQSW / DipSW / NVQ 4 in Care or Management, Level 4 NVQ in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People), or Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare is desirable but not essential. · Must have at least one year of experience in a Deputy Manager / Management role and two years in a children’s residential setting or similar residential services. · Demonstrable knowledge and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. · Must possess a full UK driving licence. · An enhanced DBS certificate will be required upon appointment.
