We are recruiting an experienced Deputy Manager for a Children’s Residential Service with an outstanding provider in Great Wyrley, Staffordshire (postal area WS6). This full-time, permanent position offers an immediate start with a competitive salary of up to £39,000, including generous remuneration for sleep-in shifts.Key Details:

Essential Requirements:
* Qualification: Must possess a Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent, with a willingness to complete a Level 5 Diploma in Children’s Residential Care.
* Professional Experience: Proven experience in children’s residential care, with a strong understanding of current legislation (e.g., Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, including quality standards).
* Leadership: Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead teams, provide supervisions, manage risks, and act as a positive role model.
* Care Standards: Commitment to delivering outstanding care, maintaining professionalism, and acting with empathy and calm, using positive support strategies (e.g., PRICE de-escalation techniques).
* Passion: Deep dedication to improving the lives of children and young people, with a desire to develop into a Registered Children’s Home Manager.
* Additional: Must hold a full manual driving licence, be fully flexible to work unsociable shift patterns, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

* Ensure all risks are safely managed in line with company policies and procedures.
* Communicate daily plans effectively with the team and provide support to the Manager in completing day-to-day tasks.
* Review care plans and associated documentation to maintain high standards.
* Undertake in-depth quality and bespoke training, including PRICE de-escalation techniques.
* Attend and chair staff meetings, contributing to the development and improvement of the service model.
* Provide support and positive role modelling to the staff team, including completing supervisions.
* Run the home in the absence of the Manager and complete on-call duties as required.
* Represent the Manager in meetings, maintaining a professional manner.
