Job Description

Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home Location: Cheadle (ST10), Stoke-on-Trent Salary: £37,139 – £39,702 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications) Hours: Full-Time, Permanent (40 hours per week, on-call required with occasional weekends and evenings) Bonus Scheme Available We are seeking an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to join our team at a children’s residential home in Cheadle. This is an exciting opportunity to take a key leadership role within a therapeutic environment dedicated to providing exceptional care and helping young people achieve positive outcomes. About the Role As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the smooth running of the home, maintaining high standards of care in line with all regulatory frameworks. You will lead and support the staff team, supervise senior colleagues, and help drive a culture of excellence, safeguarding, and therapeutic practice throughout the home. Key responsibilities include: * Supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home * Supervising and developing staff to ensure best practice and team consistency * Maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting Ofsted inspections * Building positive relationships with external agencies and professionals * Promoting a safe, nurturing, and restorative environment for children and young people Requirements * Minimum of 1–2 years’ experience working within residential childcare * Hold the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) * Experience supporting or leading a team in achieving ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted ratings * Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills Benefits & Rewards Alongside a competitive salary, we offer a generous bonus and benefits package including: * Monthly performance bonuses including Ofsted, retention, budget, and team qualification targets (potentially up to £375 extra per month) * Gym membership pass to support your wellbeing * Birthday bonus (£100, tax paid) * Anniversary rewards increasing annually (£100 in year 1, up to £500 from year 5 onwards) * Refer a Friend scheme – earn up to £1,400 within 12 months * Ongoing training, development, and career progression opportunities This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a senior role and make a genuine difference in children’s lives while working within a supportive, professional team.
