Deputy Manager: Residential Children’s Home Salary: £38,026 | Full‑time, rota‑based Benefits * Up to £38,026 salary (strong market rate for Deputy Manager roles) * £71.28 per sleep‑in * Free meals while on shift * 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays) * Generous Nest pension scheme * Fully funded Level 4 & Level 5 qualifications * Flexible working rota * Clear progression up to Registered Manager The Role We’re recruiting a Deputy Manager to support the day‑to‑day running of a residential children’s home delivering safe, high‑quality, Ofsted‑regulated care. This Deputy Manager role is ideal for an experienced senior practitioner within residential childcare who is ready to step into stronger leadership responsibility. As Deputy Manager, you’ll work closely with the Registered Manager to promote safeguarding, positive outcomes, and a stable, child‑centred culture for young people living in the home. Key Responsibilities * Support the operational leadership of the residential children’s home * Safeguard and promote the welfare of all young people * Oversee care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies * Manage challenging behaviour using positive, trauma‑informed approaches * Build strong, professional relationships with young people * Contribute to care reviews, meetings, and external appointments * Maintain accurate records in line with Children’s Homes Regulations * Support staff supervision, mentoring, development, and rota planning * Promote children’s rights, dignity, diversity, and inclusion About You This Deputy Manager role suits someone with leadership experience in residential children’s homes who believes in doing things properly. You will have: * At least 2 year’s experience working with vulnerable children in a residential setting * At least 1 year’s experience in a senior or leadership role in residential childcare * Flexibility to work a 24/7 rota including weekends and sleep‑ins * Strong communication, organisation, and decision‑making skills * Confidence leading teams and role‑modelling best practice * A caring, empathetic approach and genuine passion for children’s services Applicants must be 21+ and willing to complete an Enhanced DBS and reference checks.
