Job Description
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist children’s residential home for an experienced Deputy Manager to join their four-bed service supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
Role Overview:
As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager to oversee the smooth running of the home, leading a dedicated team in delivering high-quality, trauma-informed care. This role involves operational management, staff supervision, safeguarding compliance, and direct involvement in care planning and delivery.
Key Responsibilities:

Deputise for the Registered Manager and manage the home in their absence.
*
Lead, support, and mentor the care team to maintain excellent standards of care.
*
Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures and regulatory requirements, including Ofsted standards.
*
Contribute to the development and implementation of personalised care and behaviour support plans.
*
Work collaboratively with young people, families, social workers, and external agencies.
Ideal Candidate:
*
NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent). Level 5 qualification or willingness to work towards preferred.
*
Proven experience in children’s residential care, ideally working with young people with EBD or complex needs.
*
Previous leadership or supervisory experience within a care setting.
*
Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
*
Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
*
Flexible approach, including availability for evenings, weekends, and on-call duties.
