You will be joining a friendly, supportive leadership team and a fully staffed clinical and care workforce. The home operates with a strong emphasis on quality, innovation, and person-centred care. 👩‍⚕️ The Role: Deputy Nurse Manager This is a supernumerary position, working around 42 hours per week, predominantly Monday to Friday. You’ll work 2 early shifts per week (approx. 7:30am–4:00pm) to facilitate effective communication with night staff, and the remaining days offer some flexibility in start times. On-call duties are shared on a 3-week rota. As Deputy Nurse Manager, you'll play a critical leadership role, supporting the Home Manager with the overall clinical governance and day-to-day operations of the home. You’ll lead by example and inspire the nursing and care teams to provide the highest standard of care to residents. 📝 Key Responsibilities: Support the Home Manager in the effective and compliant running of the home. Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing and care staff. Oversee and audit care planning to ensure accurate, person-centred documentation. Conduct regular clinical supervisions, mentoring, and performance reviews. Lead on the recruitment, onboarding, and induction of new team members. Coordinate and deliver ongoing training and professional development of staff. Take charge of medication management and clinical risk assessments. Maintain compliance with CQC regulations and internal quality standards. Participate in the investigation and resolution of incidents, complaints, and safeguarding concerns. Foster strong relationships with residents, families, and external stakeholders, including GPs and other healthcare professionals. Assist with rota planning, absence management, and promoting workforce wellbeing. Act as the designated leader in the absence of the Home Manager.✅ What We're Looking For: NMC-registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with a valid PIN. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an elderly care setting (nursing home, hospital, hospice, or community). Strong clinical knowledge and a passion for delivering exceptional standards of care. Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role is essential. Excellent communication, organisational, and team leadership skills. A confident decision-maker with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
