Air Personnel are looking for aDeputy Head of Safety & Compliance to join a client based at Sywell
Overall Purpose of Job:
Reporting directly to the Head of Safety & Compliance, this role will have oversight of and be instrumental in the delivery of the Sloane Helicopters’ Safety Management and Compliance Monitoring Systems.
This is a key role within the business ensuring that all Sloane Helicopters approvals are managed in accordance with regulatory requirements. The role will drive continuous improvement with regards to safety and compliance across the wider business and its approvals.
This will include the AOC and associated HEMS approval, Airworthiness, 145 and ATO, UK CAA and EASA authorisations. This position provides the successful candidate with a clear career trajectory and development opportunities.
Main Responsibilities:
· To deputise for the HoS&C as and when required.
· Support the delivery of an independent SMS. This includes supporting safety meetings, safety promotion, risk assessments, safety cases, and embodying a fair and just safety culture. Enhancing, improving and streamlining safety reporting processes, alongside the Head of Safety and Compliance will be a key part of this role.
· Conduct, oversee and support the annual audit programme across the organisation. This includes145 / Part M / Part CAMO / AOC / ATO / HSE / EASA / UK CAA approvals, as well as internal processes and procedures.
· Assist and advise internal and external stakeholders with responses to audit findings, including root cause analysis, corrective and preventative actions.
· Support the testing and continuous improvement of the company ERP (Emergency Response Plan)
· Act as a focal point for the development, maintenance and execution of IQM (Formerly Q-PULSE) the companies operational management and SMS/CMS software system. This will include supporting education of the wider team on its use and maintaining a higher level of familiarity and understanding of the system in order to support the business.
· To support the Head of Safety & Compliance in liaisons with regulatory authorities and to act as a secondary point of contact with the Regulator, its Surveyors and Inspectors.
· The involvement and company representation, as required, at relevant UK and EASA Safety and Compliance groups and forums.
Deliver monthly reporting of metrics and regulatory performance to the HoS&C.
· To collaborate proactively with internal and external peers, colleagues, customers and stakeholders to establish strong functional partnerships.
· To review all supporting regulatory requirements and their changes, including the co-ordination of applicable changes to company procedures. This includes submissions to appropriate authorities for approval where required.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT:
· To deputise in the absence of the HoS&C with regards to team management, assisting with recruitment, training, mentoring and monitoring of performance.
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT:
· To identify and, with the HoS&C, action the training needs of yourself and the team.
· To maintain your knowledge of the company’s portfolio of services and procedures, including their relevant regulatory approvals.
RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT:
· To build positive relationships with customers, internal colleagues and suppliers and resolve problems.
· To work closely with all internal teams, promoting good relations and team working.
