A forward-thinking national online school, that is part of an independent SEN provider, are seeking a committed and experienced Deputy Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo) to play a vital role in shaping the future of SEND provision. This hybrid position (3 days onsite and 2 days remote) offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with the SENCo and Headteacher to drive high-quality outcomes for pupils with a wide range of needs across a virtual learning environment.
This role is ideal for someone seeking to make a real impact in a dynamic and inclusive online education environment. The successful candidate will be a reflective and resilient professional, committed to continuous improvement and pupil wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the strategic development and daily operation of the school’s SEND provision.
* Assist in annual review processes and multi-agency collaboration.
* Ensure staff are effectively implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
* Analyse pupil data to inform interventions and support planning.
* Promote inclusive, pupil-centred approaches across teaching teams.
* Facilitate and monitor virtual interventions tailored to individual learner needs.
* Advise on post-16 transition planning and personalised learning strategies.
* Contribute to the development and delivery of staff CPD on SEND practices.
* Serve as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL).
* Deliver a small number of online lessons and provide cover as needed.
Key requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, or equivalent is essential.
* NPQ for SENCo (or willingness to complete).
* Experience coordinating SEND provision and liaising with local authority SEND teams.
* Strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and best practices for ASC, SEMH, and other neurodiverse needs.
* Confident communicator with strong analytical, organisational, and leadership skills.
* Passionate about inclusive education and improving outcomes for learners with SEND.
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 (Dependent on experience)
