Deputy Team Manager - Permanence Service | Liverpool City Council
Role Overview:
Liverpool City Council is seeking an experienced Deputy Team Manager to join our Permanence Service, supporting the Team Manager and social work teams. This pivotal role requires proven expertise in Looked After Children (LAC) and Children in Care, with a robust understanding of legal proceedings, safeguarding, and pathway planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Team Manager in overseeing social work teams within the Permanence Service.
Provide strategic and operational leadership to ensure consistent, high-quality social work practice.
Analyse and minimise risk for children and young people, supporting positive long-term outcomes.
Actively participate in multi-agency meetings with Police, Health, and Education partners to advocate for service users.
Assist in recruitment, induction, supervision, and professional development of team members.
Act as a Practice Educator, mentoring staff and supporting a culture of learning and improvement.
Contribute to high-performance culture, ensuring consistent application of statutory frameworks, policies, and procedures.About You:
We're looking for a passionate, experienced social worker who:
Has proven experience as a Deputy Team Manager in Permanence (LAC/Children in Care).
Demonstrates excellent knowledge of legal frameworks, safeguarding, and pathway planning.
Can support, mentor, and lead teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
Possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with multi-agency partners.
