Design & Technology Teacher

A Good secondary school in Durham is seeking a passionate, motivated, and skilled Design & Technology Teacher to join their supportive DT department as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage and inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them develop creativity, technical ability, and confidence in using a wide range of materials and tools.
Role Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality DT lessons in line with the national curriculum.
* Teach across KS3 and KS4, with the ability to cover areas such as resistant materials, product design, engineering, graphics, or systems (depending on your specialism).
* Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment that fosters innovation, practical skill development, and independent thinking.
* Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners and ensure accessibility for students requiring additional support.
* Monitor progress, assess learning, and provide meaningful feedback to support student development.
* Prepare students for internal assessments and GCSE examinations, helping them feel confident and well equipped.
* Contribute to curriculum planning, resource development, and the ongoing improvement of the DT department.
* Support enrichment opportunities such as STEM clubs, competitions, or design-based projects.
Requirements:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
* Experience teaching Design & Technology at KS3-KS4.
* Strong subject knowledge and confidence teaching both practical and theoretical content.
* Excellent classroom management and a commitment to raising standards.
* A proactive approach to maintaining high health and safety standards in workshop environments.
