Head of Design & Technology (DT)
Location: Westminster
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an innovative Head of Design & Technology (DT) to lead a thriving department at a forward-thinking secondary school in Westminster. This significant leadership role requires a strategic vision to enhance curriculum provision, inspire high-quality teaching, and foster creativity, practical skills, and problem-solving across all DT disciplines.
The Role
The Head of DT will:
* Provide strategic leadership and operational management for the DT department.
* Oversee curriculum development, assessment, and teaching and learning across KS3-5.
* Lead, mentor, and support a team of dedicated DT teachers and technicians.
* Promote innovation in design, engineering, and manufacturing.
* Manage resources, ensure safe workshop practices, and contribute to whole-school STEM initiatives.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking an exceptional DT teacher with QTS/QTLS and proven leadership experience who:
* Possesses a strong academic and practical background in Design & Technology.
* Demonstrates inspiring leadership, strong management skills, and a collaborative approach.
* Is committed to fostering practical creativity, critical thinking, and technical proficiency.
