Design and Technology Teacher
Location: Durham
Contract: Full-time
Key Stages: KS3-KS4
Start Date: November 2025
We are seeking a passionate and creative Design and Technology Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Durham. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them to develop practical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a love for innovation and design.
Role Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Design and Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum.
Teach across KS3 and KS4, covering a range of specialisms such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, or Engineering (depending on expertise).
Create a supportive, inclusive, and safe learning environment where all students can thrive.
Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional support requirements.
Monitor, assess, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to help pupils reach their full potential.
Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations, including GCSE coursework and practical elements.
Contribute to curriculum planning, resource development, and departmental improvement.
Support extracurricular and enrichment activities related to Design and Technology where possible.Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
Experience teaching Design and Technology at KS3-KS4.
Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for fostering creativity and innovation.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.About us
