📍 Location: Wigan | ⏰ Hours: Full-time (term-time only) | 💷 Salary: Competitive
Are you passionate about supporting young people in their learning and bringing creative projects to life? We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Design & Technology Technician to join our forward-thinking secondary school team.
The Role As a D&T Technician, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the Design & Technology department. You will:
Prepare and maintain materials, tools, and equipment for lessons.
Support practical sessions across Resistant Materials, Graphics, Engineering, and Food Technology.
Ensure all health & safety standards are met and adhered to.
Provide technical support to both staff and students during lessons.
Assist with the organisation and storage of resources.About You We are looking for someone who is:
Practical, hands-on, and able to use workshop machinery/tools confidently.
Knowledgeable of health & safety regulations (training will be provided if needed).
Organised, reliable, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Positive, proactive, and committed to supporting young learners.Previous experience in a similar technician role is desirable, but applications are also welcomed from candidates with relevant workshop, engineering, or trade backgrounds.
