Design Engineer – Watton | £30,000 – £35,000 per year
Please note: This position requires applicants to be local residents, as the company is unable to provide sponsorship.
Position 1 Recruitment is hiring a Design Engineer to join a long-standing engineering client in Watton. This full-time, permanent role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical design experience, particularly using Autodesk Inventor.
What You’ll Do:
* Design hazardous area heaters, producing 3D models, calculations, and full documentation
* Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)
* Ensure all designs meet certification standards and client specifications
* Work with Project Managers to provide design support and updates
* Liaise with subcontractors and vendors to ensure technical accuracy
What We’re Looking For:
* Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
* Proven mechanical design engineering experience
* Strong skills in Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D CAD software
* Excellent attention to detail and understanding of engineering documentation and standards

* Hours: Monday–Thursday 07:30–16:30, Friday 07:30–12:30
* Hybrid Working: 3 days in-office, 2 days from home (after probation)
